How I got into Manga
My very first manga was handed to me in 2006 by one of my parent's roomates who was getting rid of her collection. It was InuYasha volume 01 by Rumiko Takahashi, and she told me she hoped I liked it as much as she had. I did, and my sister and I spent the next few years eating up any manga we could find at the library or Goodwill and reading fan translations on very sketchy websites. I loved the art and stories I found, and talking to people on fansites about theories and favorite characters was how I was introduced to the internet.
I got too busy to read much during college, but after I graduated and got a job I started the collection I've always wanted. I don't have that copy of InuYasha anymore, but I have found hundreds of volumes that have become just as beloved.
